Zour Apples

Two heavy hitters, Plantman Jack Herer and Ethos Glue, were used to create Zour Apples. A mix of sour and sweet, this cultivar features notes of tangy apple cider alongside sweet vanilla. Ethos Glue is a stabilized form of Gorilla Glue #4 (GG4), a well-recognized genetic co-created by the late Joesy Whales (aka Don Peadbody), whose contribution to cannabis culture has left a lasting impact.

When the classic terpene aroma of berry meets a sour, grassy flavor— that’s Crescendo. Aptly named after the musical term that indicates a gradual rise in intensity, the effects of this cultivar are powerful and uplifting. Its lineage of Chem Dawg x I-95 x Mandarin Cookies results in the complex flavor we’re passionate about.

Behind the cultivar: Zour Apples

Our Season One collection of cultivars wouldn’t be the same without Zour Apples. This cultivar is a favourite of our cultivation specialists, and it isn’t hard to guess why. It’s known for its sweet and sour flavour—imagine the tang of apple cider alongside sweet vanilla.

The Zour Apples cultivar was carefully selected as a Season One genetic for Natural History for a number of reasons.

Let’s start with genetics.

Zour Apples is the result of crossing two heavy hitting genetics—Plantman Jack Herer and Ethos Glue. Jack Herer was bred by Sensi Seeds and is named after the tireless American cannabis rights activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes (not to be confused with the Hans Christian Andersen folktale).

The other side of the genetic line, Ethos Glue, has just as interesting a story. Ethos Glue is a stabilized form of Gorilla Glue #4 (GG4), bred by Ethos Genetics. While GG4 has had some recent popularity, it’s surprising lineage that really sets it apart. As in, it was a truly unexpected plant. GG4 was accidentally created by Joesy Whales and Lone Watty after a change in location caused their Chem’s Sis x Sour Dubb plants to hermie and pollinate the entire room. Disappointed in the weed, Joesy and Lone gave most away, but a colleague, Mardogg, saved a few seeds.

And we’re glad they did, as it was the start of a special plant.

Our selection of Zour Apples for our Season One cultivars is our way of honouring the late Joesy Whales (aka Don Peabody), who passed away earlier this year. GG4 is one hell of a legacy to leave behind, and we’ll do our part by preserving and celebrating all that Joesy accomplished for the cannabis industry.

Zour Apples is available at AGLC, and can be found on shelves at other cannabis retailers.
